Our Edmonton office requires an Occupational Hygienist on an immediate full time (40 hours per week) permanent basis.  The successful candidate should have the following:

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene;
  • Certification as a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), Registered Occupational ROH (Registered Occupational Hygienist), or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is required;
  • Five to ten years of experience in Occupational Hygiene field, preferably within the consulting industry;
  • Time and resource management - ability to provide junior staff with the appropriate direction, guidance, and instructions, maximizing resource allocation;
  • Willingness and effort to share technical knowledge and expertise with peers;
  • Ability to work effectively with fellow project managers, senior management, clients and fellow staff, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent budgetary skills exercised for the management of projects and resources;
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills - ability to present technical data and theories effectively to staff and clients;
  • Valid driver’s license is required (work-related travel will be compensated);
  • Experience with conducting Phase I ESAs would be an asset; and
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta and be out of town for short periods of time.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, undertaking, overseeing occupational air monitoring programs hazardous materials assessments, abatement programs, noise assessments including, financial analysis, and quality assurance;
  • Managing and overseeing projects ensuring a safe, continuous work flow and timely completion, keeping projects on budget;
  • Assigning work to employees ensuring projects are staffed with the appropriate expertise;
  • Participating in the development of new services and/or related techniques in accordance with Company goals and objectives; and
  • Client development, marketing and business development activities.

Intermediate Accountant - Edmonton, Alberta

The Intermediate Accountant position will report directly to our executive team and will have ongoing responsibilities to the entire team of project managers, engineers, scientists, technologists, and our administrative support staff.  This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) located at our head office in Edmonton, Alberta.  The successful candidate should have the following:

Qualifications:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in good standing;
  • 10+ years of related experience;
  • Able to work independently and meet critical deadlines;
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal; and
  • Exceptional working knowledge of financial control software.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial objectives through support in forecasting, budgeting, scheduling/reviewing expenditures, and analyzing variance to accurately track financial health;
  • Monitor to ensure proper financial arrangements are in place related to projects to ensure solvency;
  • Promote and support an organizational reporting structure that is consistent with operational requirements;
  • Participate in the development of system improvements (administrative, project-specific, IT, etc.);
  • Payroll, employee time sheet, and benefits administration;
  • New project set up and deployment;
  • Invoicing and management of AR/AP;
  • Asset management and project management controls;
  • Prepare and present key financial performance indicators;
  • Comply with fair and equitable human resources policies that meet federal and provincial employment standards; and
  • Assist in the presentation and administration of company policies and procedures.

Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Technologist – Edmonton, Alberta

Our Edmonton office requires individuals on a full time (40 hours per week) permanent basis to work with our current professional and administrative staff.  The successful candidates should have the following:

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or Technical Diploma in Environmental Engineering/Science (various disciplines);
  • 1 to 3 years’ related experience;
  • Able to work independently and meet critical deadlines;
  • Experience in Phase I and II ESA investigations, remedial excavation, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal;
  • Able to write technical reports effectively and efficiently;
  • Flexible to travel throughout Alberta and into British Columbia, and be out of town for a week at a time; and
  • Willing to work in the field (throughout the year).

Responsibilities:

  • Complete the setup, scheduling and execution of environmental project work including but not limited to Phase I/II ESAs, Remediation and Spill Response;
  • Provide field and logistical support for spill response assignments;
  • Provide data review, interpretation and be involved in technical reporting;
  • Communication with fellow workers and project managers;
  • Liaise with third party contractors including but not limited to laboratory service providers and regulatory agencies; and
  • Provide continued client service and promote business development.
